"I am a 3rd grader and I want to help you Uncle".
Our beloved creator Allah swt have created us in several colors, shades, nature spread across this planet, and the whole humanity should be thankful to Him for whatever He with His utmost mercy has bestowed upon us. Everyday is different and not always the same. One comes in contact with several people portraying different backgrounds in a single day. Some, whom we don't even remember and some leaves a mark on your soul forever.

As an operational manager, my job is to facilitate (rental / utilities / furniture / food assistance) refugees from different countries. When a family, who wants to donate their modestly used household items communicates to me, I pay them a visit and whatever is needed for our refugee brethren, I take it in ICNA Van, and deliver it the same day.

Today, I happened to visit a family in a very posh subdivision close to IANT masjid, Richardson, as they wanted to donate their gently used furniture and children clothes. To me it seems like the family elders are already aware of ICNA's programs ( Food Pantry, Refugee Assistance, Feed The Hungry, Dawah Booth, Back To School, Helping Need Family).

The moment the door was opened for me to enter, I noticed a little boy neatly dressed with innocent face, full of enthusiasm came rushing towards me, hands filled with something. When he came closer with full of zest and happiness, I noticed that he had a ziploc bag full of quarters, nickels and dimes. He was offering with his small hands this contribution of his.

Looking at me, he uttered, "I am a 3rd grader and I want to help you Uncle".

Listening to his sweet words, my heart melted, like a butter on a hot pan. His modest donation to me is equal to the crowning glory on a grand total done after a fund raiser.

His father proudly mentioned me that he had been saving his pocket money and wanted to help people. His father said, when I mentioned him about ICNA's work, he readily agreed to donate his modest savings. His father fondly calls him Yusufi*, and I assume his name is Yusuf*. My hands have collected contributions, donations from several donors, but never felt this warmth in my heart.

Pray to our beloved creator Allah swt to accept Yusufi and his parent's contribution and reward them nothing but the best in both the worlds. Also pray to our beloved creator Allah swt to bless those who sincerely work to bring betterment in other's lives. Aameen.

Yes, ICNA Dallas needs your help. We are about to open a Food Pantry (Address is jotted below) to serve nearly 400 refugee families dwelling in and around Pineland Drive area of Dallas. For the simple reason to facilitate these refugee families, we worked hard to find a place in their midst, so that they can walk to the ICNA Food Pantry and take the delivery of the food which Insha Allah, soon we will be distributing them.

Right now, we are working hard to establish the infrastructure of this Food Pantry. We have a doctor who donated a van modest enough to carry enough food. An IT professional bought us an upright freezer. Another brother is planning to help us buy metal racks. What we need very important is "FOOD". Without food the food pantry is nothing but an empty place.

Find below is the list which we have posted below. Please feel free to buy it for us. If you are too busy, then mail your contribution (Check made payable to ICNA Dallas), and we will do the needful. Address of ICNA office is highlighted below.

REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR FOOD PANTRY.

Aameen.
